Melanie Etten-Rüppell is a freelance economics consultant and an expert in providing economic advice and analysis in competition and litigation cases.

 

Melanie has more than 12 years’ experience in supporting clients in all fields of competition policy enforcement, including cartel and abuse of a dominant position cases as well as merger control (Phase I and Phase II investigations) in EU cases and before national competition authorities. In addition, she has advised clients on a variety of regulation and public policy issues in particular in network industries including energy, postal and telecommunications markets.


As a freelance economics consultant based in Hamburg she has worked for leading economics consultancies specialising on competition advice as well as with corporate clients directly. Prior to beginning her freelance work in 2008, Melanie Etten-Rüppell was a senior consultant in the Cologne office of Frontier Economics. Before this, she worked for Frontier Economics’ office in London and for London Economics, also in London.
